Camping + Hiking
This campsite is in Mount Rainier National Park by Longmire. I was lucky enough to camp out there with 11 friends and snagged the F003 group campsite
The reservations for these campsite are extremely tough during the summer. It took me about two months of spamming the reserve button at 7am before I was finally able to get a campsite.
I was really surprised at how nice the campsite was. We had running water and extremely clean bathrooms. However, there are no showers so by the end of day four, everyone needed a little bit of deodorant.
When we went, the Perseids were at their peak and I spent every night sleeping in the hammock watching shooting stars.
The group did 3 hikes totaling ~15 miles total:
- Paradise Lake to Narada Falls (3.19 miles)
- Pinnacle Peak (2.78 miles)
- Bench and Snow Lake (2.20 miles + a swim)
- Skyline Loop Trail (6.07 miles)
Overall, I'd only do the Skyline Loop Trail going counterclockwise again for sunrise. It was nice not seeing as many people and seeing a couple black bears and mountain goats.
Definitely a trip I'd like to make annually!
